Hello! I’m Marisa Samilo, a Certified Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner (FNLP) and Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor (CFNC), with a deep passion for helping people heal from the inside out. My journey into functional nutrition wasn’t a linier one—it was born from my own health struggles and the need to find lasting solutions.

For years, I battled chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, PMDD, and hormonal imbalances, addiction and I turned to outside extremities to cope, hoping to escape the overwhelm and exhaustion. But those methods only masked my struggles without addressing their root causes. It wasn’t until I began exploring holistic healing that I discovered the transformative power of nutrition, movement, and recovery. Through this process, I didn’t just reclaim my health—I reclaimed my life.

In the past, I worked as a professional chef, but as I focused on my recovery, I realized that the intense, fast-paced environment of the culinary world wasn’t aligned with my personal healing journey. I made the decision to leave the kitchen to focus on healing my mind through yoga, my body through nutrition counseling, and my soul through sobriety and recovery. This shift not only changed my life but also clarified my purpose: to help others heal as I have.

Today, I provide personalized, holistic support for individuals looking to restore balance and vitality in their lives. My approach is rooted in addressing the root causes of health challenges—not just managing symptoms. I specialize in helping people with chronic illnesses, mental health struggles, and stress regain control of their health through functional nutrition and sustainable lifestyle changes.

Credentials and Training

I hold certifications as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counsellor (CFNC) and a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner (FNLP), both of which have provided me with the knowledge and tools to guide clients through their wellness journeys. I also have over 10 years of experience working in the culinary field, where I developed a deep understanding of the power of food in supporting health. Additionally, Im completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) at Open Doors Yoga Studio, which is further shaping my holistic approach to wellness.

My Philosophy

I firmly believe in the importance of bio-individuality—each person’s body is unique, and therefore, their health needs are too. I also emphasize the healing power of the gut, understanding that what we feed our bodies has a profound impact on our overall health. I take a holistic approach to wellness that nurtures the mind, body, and soul, believing that true health comes from nourishing all aspects of who we are, not just what we eat.

I’ve always had a love for food, and as someone who has worked in the culinary industry for over a decade, I know how food can be both a source of pleasure and healing. I also understand how challenging it can be to navigate health issues, which is why I’m so passionate about helping others find their own path to wellness.
